  • Short Breaks and Respite

SWAPS Short Break and Respite Service enables carers to take a break as well as offering the individual a supportive, enjoyable break within the family environment of our approved provider's home.

We can provider short breaks and respite stays from one overnight stay up to 28 days.  This service works best where the person stays with a provider on a regular basis and can get to know the family well.

Requests for the service can be made by the individual themselves or by their carer, family member, advocate or social services acting on their behalf.  Please complete the Service User Request Form and give full details regaring the person's individual needs, likes, dislikes and normal routine.  We will arrange meetings and introductory visits, the final decision rests with our providers offering the short break service.

Our providers will include the service users in all aspects of their family life, what the service user would like to do and what the family does as part of their daily routine.

Our key role is to match up the wishes and needs of the individual with our providers to ensure an enjoyable and supportive short break or respite stay.  Please see our Short Break Vacancies for a full listing of all the current vacancies on offer.
